Epigenetics in plant organismic interactions

چکیده
Plants are hubs of organismic interactions. They constantly engage in beneficial or competitive interactions with fungi, oomycetes, bacteria, insects, nematodes, and other plants. To adjust the molecular processes necessary for establishment maintenance defense against pathogens herbivores, plants have evolved intricate regulatory mechanisms. Besides canonical plant immune system that acts as primary defense, epigenetic mechanisms started to emerge another entity a target trying overcome plant's defenses. In this review, we highlight recent advances understanding contribution various components diversity plant-organismic

Plant epigenetics
Introduction Epigenetic changes in gene expression have fascinated scientists over several decades. These processes have received particular attention in plants, where they can result in beautiful variations in conspicuous phenotypes such as pigmentation. Epigenetic control is also a key issue in the development of transgenic plants with appropriate expression from newly introduced transgene se...
متن کاملEpigenetics and plant evolution.
A fundamental precept of evolutionary biology is that natural selection acts on phenotypes determined by DNA sequence variation within natural populations. Recent advances in our understanding of gene regulation, however, have elucidated a spectrum of epigenetic molecular phenomena capable of altering the temporal, spatial, and abundance patterns of gene expression. These modifications may have...
متن کاملInteractions between epigenetics and metabolism in cancers
Cancer progression is accompanied by widespread transcriptional changes and metabolic alterations. While it is widely accepted that the origin of cancer can be traced to the mutations that accumulate over time, relatively recent evidence favors a similarly fundamental role for alterations in the epigenome during tumorigenesis. Changes in epigenetics that arise from post-translational modificati...
متن کاملPreface Plant Epigenetics: From Genotype to Phenotype
The Last Unicellular Common Ancestor (LUCA) has existed more than 1 billion years ago. During that time, the plant and animal kingdoms have evolved separately and adopted a multicellular system, with sophisticated pathways of development and capability for perfect adaptation to the environment. Today, in the era of genomics it is known that many developmental processes of plants and animals are...
